Important Things to Remember when Lodging a Claim
- In any emergency, please contact 000 immediately.
- Any incident resulting in a claim, should be reported to our office as soon as possible.
- If that incident is as a result of theft, attempted theft, malicious damage or an accident, please contact the Police as soon as possible. Ask for a PROMIS Number (a reference number).
- Take photos of all and any damage. Photos provide you with proof of the incident/accident.
- Take all and reasonable steps to prevent any further loss, damage or liability. This may also include carrying out any emergency repairs … do not wait for a claim to be settled to complete urgent works.
- For large losses, it is likely that the insurer will ask for an assessor to be appointed. For smaller losses, it is often recommended to obtain 2 quotes for the repair or replacement of the item(s) being claimed.
- It is your responsibility to inform us, your Broker, of everything you think could be relevant to your situation.
